   LIBRARY SCHEDULE

Are you a member of the New York Public Library?
If your answer was no, you need to sign up now!!  Any resident of New York State may sign up for a card.  You can do it right online at this address: http://catalog.nypl.org/screens/selfregpick.html.  Your card will be mailed to you, and you can do wonderful things with it: download audio books and videos.  It also entitles you to use BookFlix and TumbleBooks for free.

Did you know that I can request multiple copies of books from other school districts in our area?  Click on this link to review the title listing! http://nc3r.org/jlbocessls/multiplecopy.htm

You are going to love this site!  It allows you to search for books by guided reading level, grade level, topic, and even bookalikes.  Looking for a bunch of books leveled "L" ... this is the tool.  Want more books like Harry Potter ... check this site out.  It's fantastic!

The Library has free access to Mailboxcompanion.com.  Click above and use the elementary librarian's e-mail address as the username and "Lowville" as the password.  There are bonus forms, calendars, seasonal activities, and searchable archive!

One of the streaming video sites that LACS subscribes to.  You will need your own username and password to enter the site.  If you don't have one, see the library for the start-up pass-code.

A second streaming video site available to LACS teachers.  Again, you will need your own username and password to enter the site.  If you don't have one, see the library for the start-up pass-code.

A compilation of over 500 lessons that utilize the SMART Notebook technology.  Don't have a SMARTboard yet ... No worries!  You can download their software in your classroom and it is available in the computer labs too.

Teachers' Domain resources include video and audio segments, Flash interactives, images, documents, lesson plans for teachers, and student-oriented activities. Once you register, you can personalize the site using "My Folders" and "My Groups" to save your favorite resources into a folder and share them with your colleagues or students.
