See link below another link to the championship meet new report channel 7 interview of State Meet Qualifiers link below NYSPHSAA Championship Meet Tyler Evans, Jordan Hunneyman, and George LaBarr representing the Frontier League at Buffalo. Tyler Evans tied for the 24th position in the semifinals. A swimoff was required to determine who would advance to finals. I can't find the results of the swimoff, but since Tyler appears in the final results, I have to assume he won the swimoff In the finals, Tyler finshed 23rd at 22.24. George LaBarr improved his PR in the 100 freestyle to 49.06, ranking him 25th, just missing a spot in the finals. Tyler Evans finished in 40th place with a 50.00 oops...sloppy reporting... George LaBarr was placed in the finals after all when another qualifier dropped out of the event. George ended up placing 23rd. Jordan Hunneyman improved his PR to 1:02.79 for 50th place. Section III State Qualifying Meet at Nottingham, 2-13-2010 No records set, but several Frontier League Swimmers advance to the State Championship Meet. Tyler Evans of Holland Patent qualified in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle, George LaBarr of Watertown qualified in the 100 freestyle, and Jordan Hunneyman of Indian River advanced to the state meet in the 100 breaststroke. Lowville competitors logged one of their best tournaments in memory. After setting 15 personal best times on Thursday (50% of all entries), the team set 11 more personal best times (out of 15) at the Section Finals, a 73% clip. Section III Class A and Class B results Holland Patent swims a Frontier League record time in the 200 free relay. Nick Freeman, Craig Ashcroft, Kyle Freeman, and Tyler Evans won sectional patches with a time of 1:31.65. Other Frontier League sectional champions were Tyler Evans in the 50 freestyle, Sean Stegemoller in the 100 fly, and Jordan Hunneyman in the 100 breaststroke. full results link at the bottom of the page.
Frontier League Championship Meet at Watertown, January 30, 2010 Host Watertown wins two relays and four individual events for a 38 point margin of victory over Holland Patent. Meet records in the 200 freestyle, the 200 freestyle relay and the 400 freestyle relay. Sean Stegemoller of Carthage went 1:51.62 to break Phil Horender's 1994 mark of 1:52.81, one of the longest standing meet records in the Frontier League. George LaBarr's second place time of 1:52.29 would also have broken the record. The 200 freestyle relay team from Holland Patent broke last season's mark set by Indian River. Nick Freeman, Craig Ashcroft, Kyle Freeman, and Tyler Evans set the record with a performance of 1:33.36, besting the mark set by Sean Iles, Brady Thomas, Dan Iles, and Jordan Hunneyman at last season's league championship meet. Watertown set a new standard in the 400 freestyle relay. Elijah Johnson, Brad McKinney, Justin Onkinco, and George LaBarr finished the event in 3:30.14, narrowly edging the mark of 3:30.40 set by Tyler Evans, Kyle Freeman, Nick Freeman, and Anthony Maggio at last season's meet. The remainder of the meet will be on Saturday, January 30th at Watertown High School.
