WorldBook - A great database for general research.  Includes excellent multimedia  resources, daily news stories, quizzes, and lots of other activities.

netTrekker - netTrekker is a database-like search engine.  That means that you use it like you'd use Google - search for a keyword or subject - but instead of a bazillion results you get a
                                     shorter list of pre-approved results. 

* Especially helpful if you're searching for information on a controversial topic like gun control - none of search results are blocked!

Newspapers

Custom Newspapers - A collection of over 150 national and international newspapers with full-text articles.





New York Newspapers - A database of 10 major New York Newspaper including the New York Times, New York Post, and Post Standard with full-text articles.
